What is the cost of tuition?
Investing in your child’s education isn’t just about today — it’s about building confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for years to come. Tuition at Wild & Wonder is $500 a month for participation in the 4 day a week program and $250 a month for participation 2 days a week. Tuition is due at the beginning of the month. A $150 registration fee and a $200 supply fee are also part of the financial commitment to Wild & Wonder Learning Nook.
What grades/ages do we serve?
Wild & Wonder Learning Nook serves grades Kindergarten-6th grades in mixed age/ability groups. Children must be at least 5 years old by September 30th, 2026 and must be fully potty trained.
When do we operate?
Wild & Wonder Learning Nook operates from September-May. Classes are Tuesdays-Fridays. Parents have the choice to enroll in a 4 day program or choose a 2 day program to best meet the needs of their families. Hours are 8:30 am-12:00 pm. If you feel Wild & Wonder Learning Nook is the perfect place for your child, but your family may need a different schedule arrangement, please contact us so that we can potentially work with you.
We also offer tutoring and camps from June-August.
What does a daily schedule look like?
Our days are rooted in wonder! A typical schedule includes a Morning Meeting for connection, a social-emotional learning activity, and a Bible verse/story. Our academic block includes language arts instruction and math instruction through teacher led activities, student led independent activities, and meaningful center activities. Our day includes an immersive thematic unit time, dedicated to outdoor exploration, creative art, collaborative projects, music, and more! At least one hour of our day is dedicated to the outdoors! We end our day with a meaningful reflection on God's world.
Where are we located?
We are nestled in the beautiful natural landscapes of Sussex County, VA. Our setting provides direct access to the diverse ecosystems that serve as our living classroom for every session.
What is the enrollment process?
Joining our learning nook starts with a conversation! We invite families to complete an interest form and participate in an interview process to ensure Wild & Wonder Learning Nook is the best fit for their family. After a mutual assessment of fit, families will complete the registration and enrollment paperwork.
How will I know what progress my child is making?
We prioritize clear, parent-friendly communication. You will receive regular updates through observational narratives, photos of their discoveries, and informal check-ins to celebrate their growing skills and spiritual wonder. We use a mastery-based approach to progress, rather than a grades-based approach. This means your child will demonstrate their learning through activities and observations, not tests or grades. Progress will be regularly monitored and shared with families through progress updates.
Is Wild & Wonder Learning Nook the right fit for my child?
If your child loves the outdoors, enjoys curious play, and flourishes in a collaborative, faith-based setting, we're likely a wonderful fit! We strive to instill a wonder for learning in every curious soul who joins our community.
How does homeschooling fit with Wild & Wonder Learning Nook?
We are a hybrid community designed to support and enrich your home education. We handle nature immersion and collaborative peer learning, allowing you to build on these experiences at home while remaining the primary lead in your child's education. Our day does include language arts and math instruction and families can choose to work separately on their own curriculum or work collaboratively through one curriculum with Wild & Wonder Learning Nook. Families will remain legal homeschoolers and must turn in a Notice of Intent to their school district each year. Families will also be required to submit Proof of Progress at the end of each year. Wild & Wonder Learning Nook will provide a Proof of Progress letter as part of the tuition costs to each child enrolled for the entire year.
